A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after a man was found stabbed in Turnham Green, Chiswick.
The man was found covered in blood and clutching his side in Turnham Green Terrace about 5pm on Sunday.
One shocked witness said the man was trying to stem the blood with a football top when police and ambulance crews arrived.
The man was rushed to hospital suffering a stab wound but was discharged yesterday.
A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said detectives believe the man was stabbed in an alley off Turnham Terrace.
"It is believed that the suspect has approached the victim in an alleyway off the main street and stabbed him with a knife," she said.
"He made off on a mountain bike.
"CCTV has been reviewed as a matter of course. No weapon has been recovered."
A 16-year-old was arrested yesterday on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and was taken to a west London police station.
He has been bailed until next month.
