Does anyone still take the Met Police's crime statistics seriously?
I only ask because your front page (Borough is safer', Croydon Guardian, April 23) seemed to suggest that there is nothing to worry about in Croydon.
Croydon Borough Commander Mark Gore might not like talking to journalists but I would like to hear him explain how exactly Croydon is getting safer.
Crime may be falling in lots of areas, helping to bring about a general reduction, but there are still several examples of worryingly graphic violence which make the law-abiding majority live in fear.
When and how are Mr Gore and his colleagues going to come up with a plan to stop this?
It is so prevalent and happens so much.
I cannot imagine that it is a problem that is going to go away quickly.
