2003 - Tony Blair tops a poll of the Worst Britons, followed by Jordan and Margaret Thatcher.
2004 - Eight people are killed in an explosion at a Glasgow plastics factory.
2005 - Bluewater shopping centre in Kent bans swearing, hooded tops and baseball caps in an effort to crackdown on anti-social behaviour. After the ban, the shopping centre reports a sharp rise in the number of shoppers.
2005 - Macaulay Culkin takes the stand at Michael Jackson's trial and denies the star had molested him. He dubs the accusations as "absolutely ridiculous".
