1995 - Paul Weller releases "Stanley Road", an album named after the street in Woking where he grew up.
1997 - Hugh Edeleanu arrives in John O'Groats, after driving from Land's End in a mechanical digger. He sets a world record for the achievement of getting there in 22 hours, 10 minutes and 30 seconds.
2007 - 22-year-old Formula 1 prodigy Lewis Hamilton takes second place in the Spanish Grand Prix, making him the youngest driver since 1960 to lead the championship.
