A new website dedicated to promoting the many practical, economical and environmental benefits from sharing products and household items has been developed by a Southfields resident.

The website - letsallshare.com - is completely free to use for anyone wishing to share, lend or borrow items so many of us buy and rarely use.

The initiative is the brainchild of Stas Murzynowski and his friend Neil Lecky-Thompson, who came up with the idea over a pint at their local pub.

Mr Murzynowski, of Campen Close, said: "My sister was going on holiday with her family and wanted to buy a roof box for her car.

"Rather than advise her to buy one I lent her mine and realised there must be lots of people out there in the same position. That was when Neil and I came up with the idea for the website."

After a successful launch and months of hard work, the website has now officially arrived.

Typical items include DIY tools, gardening equipment, roof boxes and bicycle carriers, ski and camping equipment, baby and child items, as well as designer clothes, shoes and even birthing pools.

He added: "It's easy to get involved. You simply become a member of LetsAllShare. Once registered you will be able to see two communities.

"There is a friends and family community into which you can invite trusted friends, family and people you know, as well as a local community which is automatically set up and captures all other members who have joined the scheme in your area."

The website is very much ethically-driven and both partners rank its benefits to the environment high on their list of priorities.

Mr Murzynowski said: "We are only too aware of the need to become greener' in our outlook, and as population increases there will only be so much of the finite resources to go round."

Members can give away unwanted items or maybe earn some cash by renting or hiring them out for a fee.

A central community could also be set up, such as a sports club or mums and baby groups, to share specific products.
