A green garden will not cost the earth, after Recycle Now and Kingston Council teamed up to promote home composting.
The composting scheme encourages people to compost at home by offering tips, advice and low-cost compost bins.
Composting can incorporate grass cuttings, vegetable peelings and even shredded paper and coffee granules to provide a free, nutrient rich fertiliser for the garden - avoiding waste going to landfill sites.
Bins are available to Kingston residents for as little as £17.
To find out more, visit recyclenow.com/ compost or call 0845 0770757.
To celebrate compost awareness week, taking place until May 10, anyone purchasing a bin will be entered into a draw to win £50 garden centre vouchers.
Visit compostawareness week.org.uk for more information.
