Firefighters were called to a fire near to the clock tower in Thornton Heath in the early hours of this morning.
London Fire Brigade was called at 3am to rubbish alight near the clock tower.
It was a "small fire" and was dealt with by 3.17am.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "We were called at 3am to rubbish alight near the clock tower.
"It was a small fire and dealt with by 0317."
