I’ve taken part in many bottomless brunches in my life, and have devoured many roast dinners too, but never have I ever experienced a bottomless roast until Sunday..
Is there anything greater than enjoying the delicious taste of a roast dinner on a Sunday?
Yes, there is – when it’s accompanied with a gorgeous glass of wine, or two, or three.
My partner and I visited the Vagabond winery in Battersea to test out the all-new bottomless roast menu – a 90-minute session of bottomless wine and a choice of four Sunday Roasts.
Our stomachs were rumbling when we approached the exquisite winery at 3pm, and we were soon greeted by our welcoming waiter for the afternoon, Alfonso.

He showed us around the inside of Vagabond before we took to our seats, highlighting the ‘tap and pour’ wine dispensers which provide a seamless self-pouring process of 100 glasses of wine.
The interior design was somewhat romantic – the dim lit lights and cosy setting made a perfect fit for an amorous date.
As the sun was shining during our visit, our seats were located in the secret garden, which was surrounded by fairy lights, urban seating, and even more wine options.
I couldn’t help but notice the open air ceiling, where customers can look above and see aeroplanes fly high in the sky as they enjoy their chosen wines.
My partner and I began our wine drinking venture with the Pierre Dupond – a light and refreshing rose wine which paired perfectly with our roast dinner.
The mouth-watering roasts on offer at Vagabond include chicken, pork belly, and beef as well as a vegan-friendly option, and us lucky ducklings had the opportunity to taste all three meats.
I am not exaggerating when I say this – Vagabond’s pork belly is the best pork belly I have ever tasted.
The meats were accompanied with all of the delicious foods you’d expect on a roast – crispy spuds, tender broccoli, fluffy Yorkshire puddings, crunchy red cabbage, and a gravy tasty enough to drink a pint of.
Don’t worry, there of course is a vegan-friendly option too, so a perfect menu fit-for-all.
Our second option of wine for the afternoon was Vagabond’s own Bacchus – a white wine grape flavour which was my personal favourite.
Other wines included dozens of rich and crisp white vinos, spicey and elegant reds and fruity and vibrant roses – plenty of options for both beginners in the wine world and all the way up to grape enthusiasts.
The bottomless roast menu at Vagabond will be available to all customers from October 9 and is priced at just £35 per person, or £42 per person if you would like to add prosecco.
Vagabond is Battersea’s best kept secret, and the perfect round-off for a wholehearted weekend.
