A woman, aged in her 40s, had a knife held to her throat in Sutton on New Year’s Eve.
The victim was grabbed from behind on Saturday, December 31 at 11.10am when she screamed.
Her scream led to passing cars stopping at the scene and the two suspects then fled.
There have been no arrests so far and enquiries continue.
Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting the reference 2973/31Dec.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police are investigating after a woman in her 40s had a knife held to her throat in Robin Hood Lane, Sutton.
“The incident happened at around 11:10hrs on Saturday, 31 December as the woman was grabbed from behind.
“She screamed which caused passing cars to stop and the two male suspects made off.
“There have been no arrests so far and enquiries continue.
“Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting ref 2973/31Dec."
