Two students at Merton College have been arrested after police seized two large knives at the college.
Officers were visiting Merton College and had installed a knife arch to show “zero tolerance towards youth violence and knife crime”.
Two students were allegedly found with the blades, which were seized by police.
The knives were both black in colour and had carry sheaths with them.
A picture shared by St Helier Police shows that one blade reaches around 13cm long, whereas the other reached around 20cm.
The pair were arrested.
Merton College wrote in a statement: "We take the safety and security of our students seriously and are working with the Police to deter the very small minority of people who think it is OK to carry a knife or illegal drugs.
"We are proud of working closely with the police to ensure that our college community is a safe place for learning."
