High winds have peeled off the aluminium roof of a block of flats in Tulse Hill, leaving it strewn across the pavement.
Firefighters were called to a partial roof collapse at a flat in Longford Walk in Tulse Hill yesterday morning (March 10).
West Norwood, Croydon and Clapham fire stations were called at 9.51am.
London Fire Brigade said the aluminium roof of a three-storey block of flats had peeled off in high winds and was in a precarious position.
They used a 32-meter ladder to work at height and clean up the area and make it safe.
A cordon was put into place while this work was carried out until they left at 11.23am.
There were no reports of any injuries.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Firefighters were called to a partial roof collapse at a flat on Longford Walk in Tulse Hill.
“The aluminium roof of a three-storey block of flats had peeled off in high winds and was in a precarious position.
“Firefighters used one of the Brigade’s 32-metre ladders to work at height and make the scene safe.
“A cordon was put in place as a precaution. There were no reports of any injuries.
“The Brigade was called at 0951 and the incident was over for firefighters by 1123. One fire engine, a fire rescue unit and a 32-metre turntable ladder from West Norwood, Croydon and Clapham fire stations attended the scene.”
