A huge new Marks and Spencer will open its doors in Croydon at the end of this month.
A food hall will take up almost half of the new 38,000-square-foot shop in Purley Way.
The shop, on the site of the old John Lewis Home shop which closed down in 2020, is set to open on April 27.
As well as a clothing department there will be a 16,000-square-foot food hall with an in-store bakery.
The Purley Way shop is expected to create 150 jobs and is the first of 20 new stores the company is opening across the country this year.
Camilla Harris, store manager, said: “The team and I can’t wait to welcome the local community in to visit the store and see it all for themselves.
"Whether you’re looking for a big family food shop, the latest Spring/Summer styles from our Clothing department, or a speedy option for collecting your M&S.com order with our digital Click & Collect service – we’ve got you covered.”
The store will offer a ‘scan and shop’ option where shoppers can scan and pack their items as they go using their phones and pay on the M&S app.
The shop will open from 8am-8pm on Monday to Saturday and from 10am-4pm on Sundays.
