A woman has been left injured during an incident between two dogs in Carshalton.
A disturbance was reported to police at a home in Tweeddale Road just after 11am today (May 31).
It was found that a “dangerously out of control” dog fatally injured another dog in a garden.
The woman sustained injuries to her hand and arm while trying to separate the dogs.
Her injuries were assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing.
The dog was safely contained before being removed from the address and taken to police kennels.
No arrests have been made and officers remain at the scene.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 11:06hrs on Wednesday, 31 May to a disturbance at an address in Tweeddale Road, Carshalton.
“Officers responded.
“It was established that a dog was dangerously out of control and had fatally injured another dog in the garden of the address.
“A woman had sustained injuries to her hand and arm in the process of trying to separate the animals.
“Her injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.
“The dog was safely contained before being removed from the address and taken to police kennels.
“Officers remain at the scene.
“There have been no arrests.”
