Police are hunting a man after an 85-year-old victim was robbed and pushed over as he got on a bus in Croydon.
The incident occurred on April 11 as the pensioner boarded the 194 bus at West Croydon Bus Station at 11.50am.
The victim believes that someone behind him was attempting to pickpocket him as he boarded the bus.
When he turned around, the robber pushed him over and stole his wallet before escaping on foot.
The victim was left unharmed during the incident, but he was left shaken.
Police in Croydon have released a photo of a man they wish to speak to following the robbery.
Anyone with information about the case or the man in the photo should contact the police on 101 and quote CAD2889/11Apr.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Officers investigating the robbery of a pensioner in Croydon have released an image of a man they wish to trace as part of their investigation.
“The incident happened at approximately 11:50am on Tuesday, 11 April as the victim, an 85-year-old man, boarded a route 194 bus at West Croydon Bus Station.
“As he did so, he felt a person behind him attempt to pickpocket him.
“The victim realised this and turned to react but the suspect pushed the man over and stole his wallet before fleeing on foot.
“The elderly man was not hurt during the incident but was left shaken.
“Anyone who recognises the man in the image or has information that could assist police is asked to call 101 or tweet @MetCC and quote CAD2889/11Apr.
“You can also provide information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
