A teen from Sutton has been charged with the murder of a 24-year-old man in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
Alfie Whelan, 19, was charged with the murder of Michael Jenkins who died on Sunday (June 4) after police were called to a disturbance in the town of Fraserburgh at around 6pm.
The 24-year-old was found with serious injuries and later died at the scene.
Whelan also faces a drugs charge and a charge of communicating indecently under the Sexual Offences Scotland Act.
Mr Jenkins had been visiting Fraserburgh for work at the time of his death and was from Cumbria, Police Scotland said.
The News and Star reports that hundreds of people have taken to social media throughout the last week to pay tribute to the man who "devoted his time and love" to many people he cared for, particularly his grandfather who he adored.
Area commander Chief Inspector Sam Buchan said: “Our thoughts are with the deceased man’s loved ones at this difficult time. We have a dedicated team of officers working on this investigation to establish the full circumstances.
“I understand this incident will be concerning to people but I would like to reassure everyone, from our enquiries so far, there is no wider risk to the public.”
