A dispersal zone has been put into place in Mitcham this weekend after complaints about unlicensed music events being carried out in the area.
The dispersal zone will be in place from Saturday, June 10 at 5pm until Monday, June 12 at 5am in the Willow Lane area.
Dispersal orders provide the police with the extra powers to break up groups of two or more people, where they believe their behaviour is causing a nuisance, harassment or distress.
Locals on social media have complained about noise issues in recent weeks coming from the Mitcham area.
A spokesperson for Merton Police said: "#DispersalZone in effect Saturday 10th June at 5pm to Monday 12th June at 5am for the Willow Lane, Mitcham area.
“This is in response to a number of complaints about Unlicensed Music Events (UME). "Local teams will be enforcing this throughout this time."
