Police have issued an update as a man fights for his life in hospital following a crash in Clapham.
On Sunday, July 30 at around 4am, police and London Ambulance Service were called to Clapham High Street following reports of a serious crash involving a male pedestrian, 26.
The man was taken to hospital where he remains in life-threatening condition.
The driver stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
He was taken to a south London police station.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision and ask anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of this incident to contact 101 quoting CAD 1368/30JUL23.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Detectives investigating a serious injury collision in Clapham are appealing for witnesses.
“Police were called at 04.02 hrs on Sunday, 30 July to reports of serious collision on Clapham High Street, SW4, involving a car and a 26-year-old male pedestrian
“Paramedics from London Ambulance Service and the air ambulance also attended and the pedestrian was taken to hospital where he remains in a life threatening condition
“The driver stopped at scene and was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and taken to a South London police station
“Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of this incident to contact 101 quoting CAD 1368/30JUL23.”
