British Transport Police were called to East Croydon tram stop yesterday (July 31) at 8am after reports of a child being kidnapped.
Officers found the child and two adults and spoke with them, and determined that the child was with his carers.
No offences had taken place.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "Shortly before 8pm yesterday (31 July) officers were called to East Croydon tram stop following a report of a child being kidnapped.
"Officers located the child and two adults, spoke with them and determined that the child was with his carers and no offences had taken place."
