Police have released the name and picture of the victim of a fatal stabbing in Wandsworth as well as releasing footage of a man they want to identify in connection with the murder.
A man was found with multiple knife wounds on Thessaly Road, SW8 on August 24 at 12.36pm.
Despite medical attention, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 1.09pm.
The victim has been named by police as 23-year-old local man Theo Porteous.
A murder investigation has been launched and police have released an image and footage of someone they would like to identify and speak to.
At this moment in time, there have been no arrests and inquiries are ongoing.
Theo Porteous’s family are receiving support from specially trained officers during this difficult time.
A formal identification process is pending, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
Police ask anyone with information or anyone who witnessed the incident come forward to aid the investigation by contacting them quoting crime reference number 3633/24AUG.
The public can provide information anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers.
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, leading the investigation, said: “My thoughts are with Theo’s family and friends, at what is an unimaginable time for them.
“I have assured them that I and my team will do everything we can to bring those responsible for Theo’s murder to justice.
“Our investigation is progressing at pace and I want to ask for the public’s help in identifying the man in the CCTV image.
“I would ask anyone who recognises him to get in touch without delay.
“Likewise, anyone with any information about Theo’s murder should get in touch – even details that may seem irrelevant could be important to our investigation.”
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: "Detectives investigating a fatal stabbing in Wandsworth have named the victim and released footage of a man they want to identify.
"When police were called to Thessaly Road, SW8 at 12:36hrs on Thursday, 24 August, officers found a 32-year-old man with a number of knife wounds.
"London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance also attended and despite the efforts of medics to save him, the injured man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene at 1.09pm.
"While formal identification awaits, the victim has been named as local man Theo Porteous. Theo’s family continue to be supported by specially trained officers.
"A post-mortem examination will be conducted in due course.
"A murder investigation was launched immediately by the Met’s Specialist Crime Command.
"As the investigation into Theo’s killing continues and detectives have released an image and footage of someone they are keen to identify and speak to.
"There have been no arrests. Enquiries are ongoing.
