Two people have been arrested over “shocking and concerning” footage relating to an incident where a child was “grabbed”.
The incident was first reported to officers on September 28.
A man and a woman were arrested in connection with the incident on October 1 following house to house enquiries and the collection of CCTV footage.
Police are asking anybody with further information to contact them quoting CAD 1358/28Sep.
Supt Jamie Gordon of the Met’s South Area BCU said: “I am aware of footage in relation to an incident in the Thornton Heath area where it appears a child was grabbed. I know how shocking and concerning this footage is to the community. We are actively investigating.
“The matter was reported to us on 28 September.
“Officers have carried out house to house enquires and they continue to collect CCTV footage.
"If you have any information I encourage you to call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting CAD 1358/28Sep.
“We can confirm that a man and a woman were arrested in connection with the incident on Sunday, 1 Oct.”
