A girl has been sexually assaulted whilst on board a train between Wallington and Balham.
The man began speaking to the victim and her friend, sexually assaulted her, and then exposed himself to her.
The incident happened around 10.15pm on September 16 and British Transport Police have released an image of a man they are keen to speak to.
Anyone who recognises him should contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, with reference 744 of 16 September 2023, or to connect anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Do you recognise this man?
“Detectives investigating a sexual assault on board a train travelling between Wallington and Balham Railway Station are today releasing this image in connection.
“The incident happened at around 10.15pm on Saturday 16 September.
“A girl was sat on the train with her friend when a man began talking to them.
“He then sexually assaulted her and later exposed himself to her.
“Detectives would like to speak to the man in the image who they believe may have information that could help their investigation.
“Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference number 744 of 16 September 2023. “Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
