The Sunday Times has recently published its list of the best schools in the UK, and in London, and two schools in Sutton have made the cut.
This highly anticipated list is based on the latest examination results following the pandemic, making it the most reliable ranking according to The Sunday Times' Parent Power Guide.
Below are the two schools in Sutton that have made it on the list:
Wilson’s School
A boys’ grammar school which is “committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment,” according to it's website.
In 2022, Ofsted gave Wilson’s School an Outstanding rating in each section and category.
Sutton Grammar School
An all-boys’ school with a co-educational sixth form.
In 2022, Ofsted said: “Pupils, including those in the sixth form, thrive at Sutton Grammar School.
“Pupils are enthusiastic learners who work hard and achieve well.
“Staff are very ambitious for their pupils and expect them to do well.
“Pupils are happy and safe.
“Parents and carers are overwhelmingly positive about the education their children receive.”
This guide is widely seen as the most reliable survey of the top schools in the country.
In addition to academic achievements, the guide highlights that leading schools now prioritise mental health and offer various support systems such as mentoring programs, talks from motivational speakers, and workshops on stress and anxiety management.
The guide also emphasises that good schools incorporate career guidance into their curriculum and inspire students by inviting industry leaders and alumni as guest speakers.
