UPDATE: The road has reopened and buses are running as normal
Footages and images from the scene where a 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death on Tuesday night still show Sutton High Street closed off this morning (Thursday).
Parts of Sutton High Street remain closed today, and buses are still being diverted.
The video shows police still on scene with police tape marking a crime scene.
On Tuesday (December 5) at around 7:08pm police and ambulance crews were called to the scene in Sutton High Street.
London Ambulance Service has confirmed that several resources were sent to the scene, along with support from London Air Ambulance.
A 17-year-old boy died at the scene.
Sutton High Street remains closed this morning (Thursday) between Mulgrave Road and Grove Road for crime scene investigations.
A Detour is in operation for buses 80, 164, 280, 470, S1, S3 and S4 as well as Metrobus 420 AND 820.
A spokesperson for Metrobus said: "Due to an incident at Sutton Station, Service MB420 and MB820 will not be serving this stop, “We are also unable to serve Sutton Bus Garage, Sutton Green, High Street, Benhills Avenue, Manor Place, Times Square and Sutton Police Station stops.
“All services will be terminating and restarting from Cavendish Road.”
Trains were unable to call at the station yesterday until around 8.30pm.
Trains that usually began and terminated at Sutton instead started and terminated from Carshalton for trains via Mitcham Junction, and West Sutton for trains via Wimbledon.
Customers journey times were expected to take up to 30 minutes longer due to alterations.
At around 8.30pm last night trains began to run as normal and passengers are able to access the station.
Metropolitan Police has confirmed that they are treating this case as a murder and that it is currently in the “early stages“.
A post-mortem will be carried out and the victim’s family have been informed of his death.
No arrests have been made at this stage.
