Police have issued an update on the condition of a 21-year-old man after a stabbing in Sutton.
The incident is believed to have happened near Sutton railway station yesterday (December 21).
Officers were called to a south London hospital at 8.35pm after a man admitted himself with stab injuries.
His condition was initially unknown.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police confirmed today (December 22) that his condition was later assessed as not life threatening.
No arrests have been made as police enquiries continue.
The full Metropolitan Police statement says: “Police were called at about 20:25hrs on Thursday, 21 December to a south London hospital after a male self-presented with stab injuries.
“Officers attended. The 21-year-old man was treated in hospital where his injuries were not life threatening.
“At this stage, it is believed that the victim was assaulted close to Sutton Railway Station.
“There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
“Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 quoting reference CAD 6870/21Dec.”
