A huge industrial site between Sutton and Croydon will bring 270 jobs to the area once it is up and running.
The second phase of the development of Prologis Park Beddington - which comprises four industrial units spanning a combined 93,935 square feet - has gained permission from Sutton Council.
Winvic has been appointed as the main contractor, and SHW is the letting agent, with groundworks due to start on site in May 2024.
The expansion of Prologis Park will bring 50 jobs during construction and 270 jobs when the site is ready.
Simon Perks, director of capital deployment and leasing at Prologis UK, said: “We are delighted to reach the point of being able to implement our consent and bring phase two of Prologis Park Beddington Lane to market, continuing on from the successful completion and leasing of phase one.
"We would like to thank the Local Planning Authority for their involvement in getting to this stage.”
According to Prologis, the new units will be built to high sustainability standards, with BREEAM 'excellent' and EPC A+ target ratings.
The units will have many low-carbon design features, making them carbon neutral during construction and net zero carbon during operation for regulated energy use.
They will also come with solar panels and be ready for the installation of further panels and energy storage systems, as well as having electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
