A “large” zombie knife was allegedly found during the arrest of a suspect of a stabbing at a supermarket in Wallington.
A 27-year-old man was found injured in Sainsbury’s in Stafford Road at around 3.10pm on December 24.
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews were called to the scene.
The man was taken to hospital where his condition was assessed as not life-threatening.
On December 25, a 22-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.
During the arrest, a “large” zombie knife and another smaller knife were reportedly found.
The man was interviewed and later bailed to return at a later date.
A spokesperson for Sutton MPS said: “Detectives from South Area CID identified a 22-year-old male in relation to the stabbing which took place on 24/12/2023 at Sainsburys, Wallington.
“Within a day of the incident officers had identified a suspect for the incident and on 25th December 2023 a 22 year old male was arrested by officers from the TSG.
“On the males arrest officers recovered a Large Zombie Knife and another smaller knife.
“The male has been interviewed and bailed to return at a later date.”
