Government data has revealed how many students chose Croydon secondary schools as their first preference for the academic year 2023/24.
The most popular school in Croydon is Coombe Wood School.
Coombe Wood School had a total of 562 students who selected it as their first choice for the term starting in September 2023.
172 students were offered a place at Coombe Wood School.
Riddlesdown Collegiate is the second most popular, with 477 students picking it as their first choice, and 316 students being offered a place.
Harris City Academy Crystal Palace is third in line with 269 putting the school down as their first choice, and 180 students getting in.
Oasis Academy Coulsdon has 206 putting the school down as their first choice, and 107 students getting in.
Assistant Director of the Harris Academies Katherine Cumberbatch said: "Our approach is about providing students with a happy and successful education, and we combine modern teaching with traditional standards of discipline and behaviour.
"It is wonderful that local parents are so supportive, which is reflected in how oversubscribed we are.
"It is always sad not to be able to accept everyone who applies.
"There are several equally vibrant Harris secondaries nearby, both in Croydon and Bromley, and we always encourage parents to apply to these as well."
