A Sutton pub has reopened its doors after a £240,000 investment and will host a lunch party to welcome guests into the revamped space.
The Old Bank, a community pub situated on Sutton’s High Street, will hold a launch party tomorrow (Friday, February 2) to welcome customers back to celebrate.
As a result of the six-figure investment, numerous improvements have been made.
The outdoor area has been refreshed, TV monitors are in the booth seating areas and a larger, bookable sports viewing area has been put in place.
As we start to see longer days, The Old Bank aims to be the place to be for those wanting to watch upcoming sporting events as the pub now claims to have the only outdoor TV in a Sutton pub.
To honour the fresh look, the pub will hold a “Funk Friday” – a night filled with 80s and 90s hits.
Fizz Fridays will also be making a comeback and will be a weekly staple at The Old Bank.
Customers can look forward to an entertainment filled evening which includes a three-piece local cover band, The Rebeats, so bring along your dancing shoes and dust off those vocal cords, as the trio will be transporting customers back in time as they perform major hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
General manager Gail Follin has been at the pub for 23 years.
She said: “We’re so pleased to report that our fantastic team has grown, and our pub has benefitted from a number of uplifting improvements throughout.
“We are very excited to welcome back our Sutton community this Wednesday and look forward to celebrating with you at our launch party.”
With the reopening, the pub is also launching a jam-packed schedule of weekly events such as poker nights on Mondays, real ales for £2.95 on Tuesdays, board game nights on Wednesdays and beat the boss darts on Thursdays – so there is no shortage of things to do throughout the week.
It will also host a digital sports giveaway competition with epic prizes such as a beer tower, 1kg of wings and a £50 bar tab.
