In 2023, several secondary schools and colleges in Croydon achieved a hygiene rating of 5, the highest possible score, as awarded by the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
The FSA not only ensures public health in restaurants and cafes but also takes responsibility for ensuring the safety and quality of catering services in schools.
As part of this effort, the FSA conducts assessments and assigns hygiene ratings using the six-point Food Hygiene Rating system.
A rating of 5 means excellent hygiene practices and in Croydon, a total of 13 secondary schools and colleges received the top rating.
