Police have said that death of a man in New Malden who with found with “substances” at the address is believed to be non-suspicious.
The discovery of the man’s body was made by emergency services at a flat in Kingston Road at 9.05pm on February 14.
Officers explained that the death is believed to be non-suspicious and has been treated as so, but this will only be confirmed by a Coroner.
A file will now be prepared by the Coroner.
London Ambulance Service sent an ambulance crew and a medic in a fast response car to address – with the first medics on scene within five minutes.
His next of kin have been informed.
Several flats were evacuated as a safety precaution.
Protective equipment was used for officer safety due to substances being found during a search inside the address.
A spokesperson for Metropoliton Police said: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 21:05hrs on Wednesday, 14 February to a flat on Kingston Road in New Malden following reports of a man found deceased.
“The death has been treated as non-suspicious. A file will now be prepared for the Coroner.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 8.54pm yesterday (14 February) to reports of an incident on Kingston Road, New Malden.
“We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew and a medic in a fast response car.
“Our first medics arrived on scene in less than five minutes.
“Sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.”
