A manhunt has been launched by police after an assault at Purley station.

The incident occurred just after 7.30pm on January 16, where the victim was hit with a bottle.

He was left with a cut to his head.

BTP believes the man in the images may provide crucial information for their investigation.

Anyone with information should text 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference number 576 of 16/01/24, or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “British Transport Police are today issuing images following an assault at Purley station.

“The incident happened shortly after 7.30pm on 16 January when the victim was hit with a bottle causing a cut to his head.

“Officers believe the man in the images may have information that could help their investigation.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016, or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference number 576 of 16/01/24.

“Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
