An 11-year-old author is set to donate all of her money obtained from her latest storybook to charities across Croydon.
Sarah Kittoe, a dedicated young author, has written a story book named, ‘Ama and the Lost Key’ which launches at Croydon Library on Saturday, April 6.
This marks her fourth book published, after the success of her three books, ‘The Friendship Club’, ‘Sarah Kittoe’s Colouring Book’ and ‘Lindsey and the Blue Fox’.
Now, at just 11 years old, she continues to inspire with her creativity and ambition.
Alongside her literary pursuits, Sarah is “deeply committed” to her community, as all the money she gets from the sales of her books goes towards charities such as Centrepoint and the Wednesday Club at West Croydon Methodist Church helping homeless people in Croydon.
Sarah said: "I am a creative and ambitious young black girl with many ideas about my future.
"I am interested in Art & Craft, design, music, gymnastics, sports, and food."
Sarah is supported by her parents Nozipho and Albert Kittoe, who encourage her to fulfil her dreams, and is mentored by Daniella Blechner, founder of Conscious Dreams Publishing.
She also has her younger sister Mary cheerlead her on, and Sarah has already made significant strides in her everyday life.
In addition to writing stories, Sarah has embarked on a fundraising initiative to refurbish the library at St. Paul’s Basic School in Tema, Ghana.
Through her actions, Sarah exemplifies the power of youth and the importance of giving back to one's community.
In 'Ama and the Lost Key', Sarah takes readers on a thrilling journey beneath the dry, orange, dusty sands of Ghana, where a glowing key is discovered lost in the shadows.
The story follows Ama, a young and adventurous girl with love and fire in her heart, as she embarks on a quest to unlock the secrets held by this mysterious key.
Promising unimaginable wealth, the key holds the potential to change Ama's life forever.
But as she delves deeper into the mystery, Ama learns valuable lessons about the power of unity in the land of gold.
As Sarah continues to make her mark on the literary world, she stands as an inspiring figure for aspiring authors and young individuals everywhere.
