A man in his 50s has died after an altercation at a home in Streatham.
The incident happened in Fernwood Avenue just before 2.30pm on April 5.
Officers were called to the scene and the man was found unresponsive.
He was taken to hospital in a critical condition and was pronounced dead yesterday (April 6).
Police believe they know his identity and enquiries are now ongoing to locate next of kin.
A 38-year-old man was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident.
He has since been bailed pending further police enquiries.
DCI Laura Nelson, Specialist Crime, said: “I know that local people will be shocked and upset by this incident. I share their concerns and assure them that my colleagues and I are doing all we can to establish what led to this tragic death.
“At this early stage, I must retain an open mind. A post-mortem examination will be held in due course, and this, along with other lines of enquiry will help to establish exactly what happened.”
