An award-winning Sri Lankan restaurant is set to open up in Putney this week.
Colombo Kitchen Putney is the second venture of award-winning chef Sylvia Perera, and it will have its grand opening on Thursday, May 16.
Located at 240 Upper Richmond Road, the restaurant will serve traditional Sri Lankan dishes and exotic cocktails.
After the success of her first restaurant in Worcester Park, head chef Sylvia is thrilled to be able to share her authentic Sri Lankan recipes to the people of London.
Sylvia said: “I was honoured when people told me they had travelled from all across London and even from abroad just to taste the food I grew up eating.
“That's why I'm so excited to open this second location and share my heritage with even more people.”
While Sri Lankan cuisine has become increasingly trendy in London, Colombo Kitchen stands out for its unique hopper and kottu bar concept, where traditional street food is prepared right under guests’ noses.
This dedication to authenticity has won it the award of Best Sri Lankan Restaurant at the prestigious Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards.
The new location is just a short walk away from East Putney Station.
The space provides an upscale, but lively atmosphere that is perfect for groups and outdoor dining.
The grand opening on May 16 will be complete with a traditional opening ceremony and traditional Kandyan dancers.
Bookings can be made on the Colombo Kitchen website.
Colombo Kitchen will be open from Wednesday to Friday from 5pm to 11pm, and weekends from 12pm to 11pm.
