A woman is fighting for her life after “falling from a height” in Mitcham.
Yesterday (May 23) at around 3.55pm, police were called to Mitcham Park and found a woman with serious injuries.
Medical teams arrived at the scene in approximately six minutes.
London's Air Ambulance was also sent to the scene.
The victim, a woman in her 40s, was taken to hospital and currently remains in a life-threatening condition.
A man was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident.
He is currently in police custody and enquiries are ongoing.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called to Mitcham Park, Mitcham at about 3.55pm on Thursday, 23 May following reports that a woman has fallen from height.
“Officers attended and on arrival found a woman, believed aged in her 40s with serious injuries.
“She was taken to hospital for treatment, where she remains in a life threatening condition.
“One man was arrested at the location in connection with the incident. He remains in custody.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.52pm on Thursday 23 May to reports of an incident at Mitcham Park, Mitcham.
“We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a response car and an incident response officer. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.
“The first of our crews arrived at the scene in approximately six minutes.
“The patient was treated by paramedics, before being taken to a major trauma centre.”
