A woman has died after a single car crash at a roundabout in Caterham.
At around 3am on Sunday (June 9), officers were called to the Buxton Lane, Ninehams Road and Salmons Lane West roundabout.
The crash involved a grey Mercedes E220.
A 34-year-old woman died at the scene, and a man and another woman in their 30s were injured and taken to hospital.
The other woman is in a life-threatening condition.
Their next of kin have been informed.
A man described as being white, aged between 30-40 and stocky left the scene.
It’s believed that he was wearing a white t-shirt and carrying a man-bag.
There are road closures in place on the roundabout to let emergency services investigate.
Surrey Police has asked drivers to avoid the area and says the roads will be reopened as soon as possible.
A witness appeal for the man described has been launched.
