A man has been taken to hospital after a shooting in Brixton in the early hours of this morning.
Police were called at 1.43am today (Friday) to reports of gun shots in Carrara Close, Somerleyton Estate.
A 22-year-old man was found with gunshot injuries.
He was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains and his condition is not life threatening.
There have been no arrests at this stage and investigations into the circumstances remain ongoing.
Anyone with information or was in the area at the time of the incident and can help is asked to call police on 101 quoting CAD Ref: 590/21JUN.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a shooting in Brixton.
“Officers were called at 1.43am on Friday, June 21 to reports of a firearm being discharged in Carrara Close, Somerleyton Estate, SW9.
“London Ambulance Service also attended and found a 22-year-old man with gunshot injuries – he was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains. His condition is not life threatening.
“No arrests have been made and enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing.
“Anyone with information or was in the area at the time of the incident and can assist the investigation is asked to call police on 101 quoting CAD Ref: 590/21JUN.
