A hotel in Richmond is celebrating its 150th birthday by supporting charities and pledging donations to causes in the community.

Richmond Hill Hotel has chosen to commemorate its 150-year anniversary by pledging various donations and activities to do their bit in Richmond.

As part of the celebrations, the hotel is working closely with the community through a host of charity drives.

These include 150 hours of volunteering, distributing 150 afternoon teas to care homes in the area, planting 150 trees, and giving 150kg of donations to the Shooting Star Children's Hospice.

A team of eight colleagues from Richmond Hill Hotel dedicated a day to volunteering at the hospice, working on tasks ranging from weeding in the gardens and painting furniture, to jet washing.

Alongside this, a group also conducted a litter pick, resulting in multiple black bin bags of rubbish collected and helping to keep London's greenest borough clean.

Richmond Hill's hospitality also reached the Vineyard Community, a charity providing vital crisis, food poverty and social inclusion support to the Richmond community.

They received thirty afternoon teas to giveaway to those in need of a special treat.

Charlotte Alldis, marketing director of Richmond Hill Hotel, said the team were "delighted" to work with Vineyard Community, and have set up targets for their charity work.

Ms Alldis said: "2024 is a very special year for us at Richmond Hill Hotel as we continue celebrations for our 150th, and to celebrate with the local community we've set up targets to offer our support and time to local charities close to our heart.

"We've kickstarted some of our activities with our recent volunteering day, litter pick and we were delighted to gift Vineyard Community with afternoon teas which locals could enjoy.

She added: "Not only do we want to thank our loyal customers by offering limited edition offers like our £150 rooms, but it's also important to give back to our community which is why we've set out four considerable objectives to achieve this year as our way to support the local area."

On top of this, the hotel has released a scheme to allow guests to book a room for only £150, an offer which has already been extended due to its popularity.

The hotel has been serving Richmond since 1874, with its history dating back even further to 1726.

The Georgian building, which now boasts 144 bedrooms and suites, underwent an extensive renovation in 2019, incorporating modern features while retaining parts of its historical charm.

The hotel is great for guests keen to explore London or enjoy a staycation in idyllic surrounds.

Boasting an array of features, from its colourful interiors to its award-winning restaurant, 144 On The Hill, the hotel is also close to the Royal Richmond Park.

Guests have access to a 24-hour gym and complimentary yoga mats, perfect for those looking for some zen during their stay.
