An elderly man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman died in Kingston.
Police were called to an address in Raebun Avenue, Tolworth at 9.30am on Friday (July 19) after a womanw as found unresponsive.
The woman, aged in her 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her next of kin are aware and an investigation has been launched.
Police are still at the scene carrying out enquiries.
A man, also in his 80s, who the woman knew was arrested on suspicion of murder at the scene.
He remains in custody.
Anyone with information which could assist the investigation is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 2013/19July.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman in Kingston.
“Police were called at around 09.30hrs on Friday, 19 July to an address in Raebun Avenue, Tolworth after a woman was found unresponsive.
“The woman, aged in her 80s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“Her next of kin are aware and being supported by specialist officers.
“An investigation has been launched by detectives from the Specialist Crime Command, under DCI Brian Howie.
“Officers remain at the scene carrying out further enquiries.
“A man in his 80s – who was known to the woman – was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.
“He remains in custody.
“Anyone with information which could assist the investigation is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 2013/19July.”
