A person has died after an incident at Surbiton train station.
A casualty on the tracks was reported to police in Victoria Road just before 2.10pm today (July 22).
London Ambulance Service crews also attended and the person was pronounced dead shortly after.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
National Rail confirmed on X (formally known as Twitter) that lines between Wimbledon and New Malden were closed as the incident was dealt with.
The lines have since reopened however trains are still being cancelled and delayed by up to 70 minutes.
The incident has also affected trains at London Waterloo with many services also being cancelled.
South Western Railway is urging commuters to check before they travel as disruption is expected until the end of today.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Surbiton railway station at 2.09pm today (22 July) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”
