Police have flocked to a busy park in Sutton after a container carrying organs was reportedly found.

It was reported by a member of the public who discovered the container in Rosehill Park at around 4.30pm today (July 24).

Officers say the content in the container was described to either belong to a human or an animal.

The container has now been secured by police and the contents will be forensically examined.

A crime scene remains in place as police enquiries into the circumstances continue.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 16:30hrs on Wednesday, 24 July by a member of the public who reported finding a container in Rosehill Park, Sutton containing what was described as human or animal organs inside.

“The container has been secured by police and the contents will be forensically examined.

“A scene remains in place at the location and enquiries into the circumstances continue.”
