A man has died and four others left injured after a crash in Colliers Wood.
The incident between a car and three pedestrians happened in Meratun Way at around 12.15pm yesterday (July 28).
Police and London Ambulance Service crews attended and one of the pedestrians, a 49-year-old man, died at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
The driver stopped at the scene and was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries
Three other pedestrians were taken to hospital where their conditions were assessed as not life-threatening.
Police enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of the crash.
No arrests have been made.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “At around 12.15pm on Sunday, 28 July, police and London Ambulance Service were called to reports of a collision between a car and four pedestrians on the A24 Merantun Way
“Despite the best efforts of emergency services, one of the pedestrians, a 49-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
“The driver stopped at the scene and was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries
“Three other pedestrians involved were taken to hospital, where their condition has been assessed as not life-threatening.
“Enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of the collision
“The investigation is led by officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Merton
“There have been no arrests.
“Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage are asked to call police on 101 and quote reference 3284/28JUL24.”
