A man has been arrested after a Croydon stabbing that has left the victim in life-threatening condition four days on.

Police were called to Heathfield Road at 7.15pm on Saturday, July 27.

A 22-year-old man was found with injuries at the scene and taken to hospital where his condition has been assessed as life-threatening.

One man has since been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

He was released on bail pending further enquiries.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 19:15hrs on Saturday, 27  July to reports of a stabbing on Heathfield Road Croydon

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a 22-year-old man suffering injuries; he was taken to hospital where his injuries are described as life-threatening

“One man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and released on bail pending further enquiries

“Enquiries into the circumstances continue.
