A young girl has denied trying to kill her mother.
The child, 12 at the time of the incident, pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of the 47-year-old woman in Wimbledon, south-west London, on March 2.
She also denied to an alternative charge of wounding with intent during an Old Bailey hearing on Wednesday.
The defendant, who has turned 13 since the alleged incident, faces a one-week trial at the same court from September 9.
As one of the youngest female defendants, the girl entered her pleas from the well of the courtroom flanked by appropriate adults.
Before entering her pleas, she became visibly upset and Judge Judy Khan KC allowed her time to compose herself.
The defendant, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, is remanded in local authority accommodation.
