A man reportedly "directed racial abuse" at passers-by in Epsom.

Police are now seeking witnesses to a racially-aggravated public order offence that occurred on Epsom High Street on Friday, August 9.

The incident took place around 7.30pmin Derby Square, where a man allegedly directed racial abuse at passers-by.

A 53-year-old man from Epsom was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the racially aggravated offence.

He has since been released on bail as investigations continue.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information that could assist with the investigation to come forward.
