Fuel prices have been dropping since May, but they tend to vary from one petrol station to the next.
This month, according to PetrolPrice, the price of petrol has dropped by about two pence per litre, bringing the average price of unleaded petrol to below £1.43 per litre and diesel to below £1.48 per litre.
The price you pay for petrol and diesel depends on global oil prices, distribution costs, retailer profits, fuel taxes (52.95p per litre), and VAT (20 per cent).
Lately, diesel prices at fuel stations are dropping faster than unleaded petrol prices.
But even though both fuels are expected to get cheaper, the speed at which diesel prices go down compared to unleaded petrol might decrease.
