A man has died after a house fire in Croydon.
Fire crews were called to Chelsham Road at around 12pm yesterday (Saturday, August 31).
A man was found inside of the home and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Part of the ground floor of the end-of-terrace house was damaged by the blaze.
Six more people evacuated a neighbouring house before firefighters arrived.
The fire was extinguished by 1.01pm.
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Croydon, Woodside and Norbury fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
