A handgun has been taken off the streets of Worcester Park following the arrest of three suspects.
Local police responded to reports of suspicious activity in the area and called in the Metropolitan Police's Firearms unit on August 31, 2024.
Officers from the specialised unit quickly arrived and detained three individuals at the scene.
The seized firearm is now in police custody, and the three suspects were arrested on suspicion of possessing the weapon.
They have since been released on bail as investigations continue.
A spokesperson for Sutton Police said: "Three (3) Suspects arrested for Possession of Firearms in Sutton.
"On 31st August 2024, our local officers received a call about some suspicious activity in Worcester Park, Sutton.
"Officers from the MET’s Firearms unit MO19 attended and detained three (3) individuals, and a handgun was removed from our streets.
"All three were arrested for Possession of a Firearm and taken to custody.
"All Three (3) suspects have been bailed whilst the investigation is ongoing."
