A man has died after a fire at a bungalow in Twickenham.

Two fire engines and around 10 firefighters tackled the blaze in Glasbrook Avenue at 10.55am on September 1.

A woman was treated by London Ambulance Service crews and the man was pronounced dead shortly after.

Half of a semi-detached bungalow was damaged by the fire.

The incident was over for firefighters just before 11.50am. 

The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Sadly, a man has died following a fire at a bungalow on Glasbrook Avenue in Twickenham.

“Half of a semi-detached bungalow was damaged by fire. A woman was treated by London Ambulance Service crews and sadly, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The Brigade was called at 1055 and the incident was over for firefighters by 1151.

“Two fire engines and around 10 firefighters from Twickenham Fire Station attended the scene.

“The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.”
