Greenwich's high street has been named among the best of its kind in the UK by the Mail Online.

In a list created by the outlet, they aimed to highlight the 32 best high streets around the UK praising the amount of independent stores, coffee shops and restaurants each had.

Along with special attributes, including a sense of community and its attraction to homebuyers "far and wide".

Greenwich's high street has long been popular amongst locals and tourists, with it being home to many landmarks such as the Greenwich Market and the Cutty Sark.

Why Greenwich High Street is among the UK's best

Discussing Greenwich and its high street, the Mail Online said: "Visitors from across the world are drawn to Greenwich’s high street thanks to its view of the Cutty Sark ship and the River Thames, as well as its famous market, which is found at its north end.

"The high street also offers Regency-fronted shops including antique stores, fashion and homeware retailers as well as a selection of gastropub, restaurants and cafes."

While the outlet did not pinpoint specific shops, they did praise Greenwich's choice of independent shops, including clothing store Gekko, antique store The Junk Shop and jewellery shop Beadoir.

Greenwich is also home to many well-praised cafes and restaurants as highlighted by the Mail online. popular spots include Trafalgar Tavern, The Pavilion Cafe and the historical Greenwich Market Food Court.

The Greenwich market has long been popular, gaining an impressive 4.5/5 rating on Google with one recent guest sharing: "A really good collection of stalls at this market. The food places outside the covered markets are great.
